The Book Corner & Current Book

Listed under Current Book on the right I will have links to both the Books I am currently reading and books that I have recently finished reading, along with approximately how far into the book I am. I will not be leaving these here permanently so check back regularly to see what I am reading. I will be moving books that I really like and books of interest to me into The Book Corner. So you will see The Book Corner grow as I find more books that I deem worthy. If you are interested in purchasing any of the books on either list just click on the link and you will be taken to the Barnes and Nobel website where you can purchase them. If you purchase a book after clicking through my page it will help support both my blogs and Nearjah.com the California Adoption Search Registry site that I created and am working on updating. (Barnes and Noble stopped using this service)

Inkheart/Inkspell

Well I finished Inkspell on Monday, I really enjoyed both Inkheart and Inkspell the characters were interesting and the concept was very well executed I can't put my finger on anything that contradicted itself, which is nice because that can break your concentration and the believability even of a fantasy story. I hated to have to put both of these books down. I look forward to a sequel, I want to know what happens next. If there is not another book in this series I think I will be disappointed because the ending of Inkspell just seemed unfinished. Almost like saying... Well I am on to a new book titled

Time for some fresh ink

It has been a really long time since I have blogged... and I had such good intentions (sigh)... but life, the 360 and Baby S all decided they were more important, and then I just kind of forgot to post, it was such a new thing for me after all. Well I will say that Baby S's needs are definitely more important than posting to my blogs, but I plan to start posting again so check back from time to time.

Not only am I going to start posting here again but I am also heading up a new blog called Get Frosted!. There is not much there yet, but check it out when you get the chance, we will be posting pictures of cakes that we make, so keep an eye out for new posts to see what interesting designs we come up with.

E is for Energy

Energy drinks (BAWLS)
When I first tried BAWLS I got it as a joke on my brother-in-law... He chews and he uses soda bottles for his spittoon. I thought this was perfect we wouldn't have to see his spit, and I labeled it T's Spitton. Of course I labled it so that his name was on the front side and spittoon was on the back side. So when you looked at the front side it said...

T's
BAWLS

He did not mind my little joke... he thought it was great. There is only one store here in Redding that sells it. And it happens to be where we normally shop...Winco, so I try to buy one every now and then so they don't stop selling it. I like Mt Dews energy drinks as well but I will have to say... heeheehee... "blue" BAWLS are my favorite!!

C is for Color

I find color to be a very intriguing thing. Everything we look at has some sort of color. When we look at something the color can make us like or dislike it almost immediately. We can use the color of fruit, like bananas, to tell if they are ripe, over ripe, or not ripe at all. If we are shopping for furniture we can love one sofa and hate another and the only difference between the to could be the color. There are some colors I love and some that I hate, and that is true for all of us.

I hope you enjoy the picture I have chosen for C, it is one of my pictures of the Sundial Bridge that I have collaged. It is my favorite picture that I have taken of the bridge and, I think, it really took well to the style of collage that I did.
